ACO supports the Keyline Thunderball rally 2012 30/7/2012 | | This year’s rally had a James Bond theme, and each car entered had to be a model used in a 007 movie. ACO supported a team of four, gold-clad ladies from Travis Perkins, aptly dubbed the ‘Money Pennies’, by supplying them with a gilt-gold London cab – a model seen in the Bond adventure Octopussy (1983).
On June 28th, TV builder Tommy Walsh officially launched the rally from Keyline’s Northfleet base, and saw off a field of 24 cars; representing Keyline, other parts of the Travis Perkins group, and their customers and suppliers. The teams had just three days to cover a 1500-mile route across France to the finishing line at Bernese Oberland Alps in Switzerland – without the aid of a sat nav, or the convenience of travelling on major routes.
Managing Director at ACO Technologies, Richard Hill, praised the work of Prostate Cancer UK, and the commitment of all involved in the Keyline rally: ‘We are glad to support the charity’s work in combating this commonplace but often unrecognized form of cancer; and we are so proud of the ‘Money Pennies’ for the dedication fundraising efforts that took them to Switzerland and back by taxi’.
The ‘Money Pennies’ thoroughly enjoyed their experience and are justifiably proud of their contribution to Prostate Cancer UK’s, endeavors to ensure a better quality of life for the 250,000 men affected by the disease in the UK today, through awareness, support, and research projects.
